Friday 4th October v Edinburgh City.
Home league tonight against the league leaders with five straight wins under their belts. We started the game very well and after 18 minutes Lewis Payne broke through the middle of their defence to put us 1-0 up. The game went away from us during an 8 minute spell where Edinburgh recorded 3 goals to go in 3-1 up a HT. Again, we came out for the second half and took the game to Edinburgh but after 77 minutes they went 4-1 up. We changed our shape then had our best spell of the game recording an OG and another Lewis goal to get back 3-4 on 80 minutes. Try as we could we couldn't get an equaliser and there was no further scoring. Very happy again with the performance and if we keep playing like we did tonight our wins will come.

Away league game tonight against Dalkeith Thistle hoping to continue our good form after last weeks win. Both teams started the game well and right away it was evident Dalkeith were going to be a hard team to break down. After 24 minutes Dalkeith got in behind us and swung in a cross which Dylan unfortunately put into his own net whilst trying to clear to put them 1-0 up. We kept going and on 44 minutes got our reward from Luke’s penalty after Dave was brought down in the box. HT 1-1. Second half we got stronger and made good use of our possession and on 65 minutes Euan lobbed the keeper to put us 2-1 ahead. We then defended well and on 93 minutes Ben made sure of the points with his first goal for us. FT 3-1. Very happy with tonight’s performance.

A home Development League Cup first round tie tonight against Broxburn Athletic. A quick start from us seen us put Broxburn on the back foot and after good move down our right hand side Dylan Harrison scored to put us 1-0 up. HOB U20s 2 - 2 East Fife
A home game tonight against Fife opponents East Fife. Again the lads started very well and settled into the game quickly. Against the run of play East Fife scored after 20 minutes to go 1-0 ahead. This spurred us on and before half time Harris netted to take us in 1-1 at half time. We came out for the second half and had to make a couple of forced changes but again we were on the front foot. Harris scored again to make it 2-1 in our favour. East Fife never gave in and equalised late in the game to make the final score 2-2. For us for the second time in 3 weeks we've allowed teams back into the game to take a point from a winning position which we need to work on. All in all, happy and good signs that the lads are settling in well.

Away game tonight against Lothian Thistle HV at Meggatland stadium. After our encouraging performance last week we were looking to keep improving. The first half was played out very evenly with Thistle going in at half time 1-0 ahead from a penalty. We started the second half very strong and from a corner kick Luke Fleming in his first game for six months scored with a great header at the back post. We looked to take it on from here but again we were slack defensively and lost two goals to lose the game 3-1. Encouraging signs that we’re improving but it needs to be more consistent. We look forward now to a local derby against East Fife next week.

Friday 30th August
First home league game tonight against Bonnyrigg Rose. After our slow start last week we were quickly into our stride and our excellent first half performance had us up 2-0 with both goals from Harris Kay. Had we taken our chances we could easily have been 4/5 up. Second half Bonnyrigg to their credit came back into the game and after a couple of individual errors they squared the game at 2-2. There were no further goals and probably the correct result over the 90 minutes. Again, another fine performance from 16 year old Euan Stuart which was very pleasing.

A disappointing start to our league campaign tonight away to Blackburn United. We started well and looked confident whilst creating a couple of good opportunities. Midway through the first half we lost two bad goals and from there we struggled to get back into the game. Our task was made harder on 49 minutes when we were reduced to 10 men. Blackburn ran out 6-0 winners. We’ll start again on Tuesday.

Friday 3rd May 

Tonight we completed our league campaign away to Camelon at Little Kerse. We started very quickly and put Camelon on the back foot by going 2-0 up inside 4 minutes, goals from Deano and Ross. Camelon responded by getting a goal back from the penalty spot after 20 minutes, this only spurred us on and after some great play Ross went on to complete his hat trick for us to lead 4-1 at half time. Second half started in the same fashion and after an hour we were 6-1 ahead with further goal for Deano and Ross. Camelon pulled a late goal back to complete the scoring at 6-2 to us. Very pleasing to involve Cammy and Joe from the U16's who both played the second half and impressed everyone. Tonight's win secured a fourth place finish in the league and I'm delighted with the lads contribution this season. We'll take a well earned break and look forward to next season.

Our last home League game of the season brings Whitehill Welfare as our opponents. A very good first half performance from both teams with the game swinging end to end but no goals from either team. The second half started with a defensive mistake from ourselves resulting in us going 1-0 down. Try as we could and with a number of chances we could not record an equaliser and after all the effort we put into the second half it ended disappointing for the lads.

Home to Bonnyton Thisle tonight in the Lowlands Conference A League game. The game started at a fast pace with both teams going for it. A lapse in concentration in defence cost us after 6 minutes and we found ourselves 1-0 down. Following this we pushed hard for an equaliser and had a few chances to counter but nothing would go in. On 70 minutes two dubious decisions denied us a penalty but awarded one for the opposition almost immediately resulted in us going 2-0 down. On 81 minutes Jack pulled one back for us and it was game on again. Try as we may an equaliser didn't come and Bonnyton broke away to make the final score 3-1. Can't complain tonight, result disappointing but performance up where we want it to be. Can't control decisions going against us! but the lads will learn from this.

A home game tonight, again in windy conditions against Edinburgh University. We asked the boys to keep the ball down and move it quickly and that's exactly what they done. Two good gaols from Jack and Dean took us in at half time 2-0 ahead. We dominated the second half and regular goals came from Ryan with a hat trick and a further counter from Jack contributed to a 6-1 victory with us losing a slack goal late on. Very happy with the lads tonight, great attitude and performance after a couple of weeks where it hasn't went our way.

A tough one tonight away to Tynecastle FC in our Lowlands Conference A league game. Again we started brightly and looked like taking a lead with some good play and chances created. Tyncastle slowly worked their way into the game and took the lead midway through the half to lead 1-0 at half time. The second half followed the same pattern as the first and again we lost a goal that shouldn't be conceded to lose out 2-0. A tough reminder in this league that you must take your chances but more importantly you must remain switched on at all times.

Tonight seen us travel to Central Park Kelty in the quarter final of the Development league Cup. In a great first half both teams were a credit to themselves in producing some excellent football. Kelty opened the scoring after 20 minutes only for Jack to equalise almost immediately, this looked to be the score at half time only for Kelty to score again in the 45th minute. Again after 46 minutes Kelty increased their lead and then continued to put us under pressure, we weathered this period and again settled with Rory scoring a header from a Ben free kick. Try as we could we couldn't make any more in roads and Kelty ran out 5-2 winners. No complaints with the lads efforts and again we showed that we can compete against good teams, we'll continue to learn and look forward to getting back to league business away to Tynecastle on Friday.

A disappointing night for us losing 5-0 against Edinburgh City in our home game in the 2nd round of the Knock Out Cup. A night when nothing went right for us and on chances this game could easily have been 5-5. We'll learn from it though and be ready to go again against Kelty in the Development Cup on Wednesday.

Back at Keirs Park tonight for our 2nd Round Challenge Cup tie against Lothian Thistle HV. From the off we struggled to get into our normal stride and HV took advantage of some slack play from us and we went in 2-0 down at the interval.
