Friday 7th December - HOB U20s v Camelon

Very happy with the lads tonight in our home League game against Camelon. Again in difficult conditions we took the game to our opponents and forced them back. After hitting the post and bar three times we opened the scoring with a cross come shot from Dylan Harrison, after this a great run and cross from Rory, Dean arrived at the back post to score. We lost a goal…..

Friday 30th November - Bonnyton Thistle v HOB U20s

Friday 30th November
On our travels to Kilmarnock tonight to play Bonnyton Thistle. The game started in horrendous conditions with both teams sizing each other up with little chances being created. After 15 minutes slack defending cost us a goal with Bonnyton going 1-0 up. This sprung us into action and it wasn’t long before Jack had us back on level terms at 1-1. The remainder of the half we pressed for a second and had 4/5 great chances to get a second. Second half started as the first finished with us pressing for a second goal…..

Friday 23rd November - HOB U20s v Tynecastle

Friday 23rd November
A home league game tonight against Tynecastle FC was our challenge this week. Both teams started the game very well getting the ball down and playing some good football. Half time arrived with the score at 0-0 without there being any clear cut chances as defences from both sides performing very well. We made a couple of positional changes at half time and this spurred us on and after 55 minutes Jack was brought down in the box and a penalty awarded……

Friday 16th November - Whitehill Welfare v HOB U20s

Friday 16th November
Away to Whitehill Welfare tonight in the League knowing it was going to be a tough one after our draw against them in the first game of the season. We settled very quickly and raced to a two goal lead with Josh scoring both goals after causing their defence no end of problems. Whitehill got themselves back into the game with a slack goal from our point of view after 25 minutes. Alex though restored our two goal lead just before half time with a well taken goal. Second half…..

Friday 9th November - Heriot Watt v HOB U20s

Friday 9th November
Very tough conditions tonight with wind and rain a big factor at Beath astro  in our League game at home to Heriot-Watt University. Again, we started well and took the game to our opponents. Not a lot of chances in the first half with the main talking point being after 20 minutes Lewis being straight through on goal and being upended on the edge of the box resulting in a free kick for us and a yellow!! card for the defender. Second half Heriot used the wind to their advantage and pressed hard for the opener which came after 65 minutes. Credit to the lads though ……

Friday 26th October - Preston Athletic v HOB U20s

Friday 26th October
Delighted to pick another three points on the road against Preston Athletic at Prestonpans. Again, we were quick out the block and Lewis was fouled in the box in less than a minute, Jack stepped up to slot home the penalty. Not long after Jake scored from a corner and we were looking very comfortable. Unfortunately we lost our way a bit and allowed Preston back into the game when a mix up in defence resulted in Marco scoring through his own net. A wee chat at half time inspired the lads and they came out the second half and dominated proceedings. Further goals followed with a brace for Craig, a first goal for Alex and to…….

Friday 19th October - HOB U20s v Newtongrange Star YDA

Friday 19th October
After three away games it was great to get back to Keirs Park in our League game versus Newtongrange Star. As usual the pitch was in fantastic condition. We started the game very well and pushed forward at every opportunity and after 20 minutes Deano arrived at the back post to drive home from just inside the box. Following this we got a bit scrappy and allowed Newtongrange an equaliser just before half time. We came out for the second half and again stamped our authority on the game with some good play. After a long run into the box from Lewis he was fouled by the keeper…

Friday 28th September - Edinburgh University v HOB U20s

Friday 28th September
Very happy to pick up our first 3 points in our first away league game against Edinburgh University. Both teams took time to settle in an even first half, a few chances but we went in 0-0. After a couple of changes to our set up we dominated the second half and after an hour Lewis took a chance on a defensive lapse and got us in our way with the opener. This was quickly followed with an unstoppable strike from Jake from outside the box to make it 2-0. We continued pressing……

Mid Annandale v HoB U20s, Qualifying League Cup.
Tonight seen us make the 220 mile round trip to Lockerbie to play Mid Annandale. The squad a bit light with suspensions and injury meant we only listed three subs with Jake included as fourteenth man after a four week injury lay off. We started the game on the front foot and Jack quickly had us 1-0 up after a great move down the right hand side. The game swung from end to end …….

Season 2018/19

Season 2018/19 sees us compete for the first time in the Lowlands U20 Development League. This is the next step on the Club’s player pathway and promises to be a challenging season for the players. We’re very happy with the squad which includes 13 of last year’s successful U17’s team who will all have a period of time to develop and hopefully push all the way to the first team.

April Update

April turned out be a very important month and has set us up for the run in to the end of the season. Nine good league points were gained against AM Soccer twice and Bayside.  Another Fife Cup Final was secured for the fifth year in a row after defeating Scone in a very close encounter, added to this we overcame Kirkcaldy Eagles to reach the semi final of the East Region Cup. Our reward for that is an away tie against East Craigie in the semi final. Massive well done to our goalkeeper Declan Morgan who made two appearances for the first team and helped secure four valuable Super League points against Bo’ness and Sauchie.
