Scottish Junior Cup Winners with Haws connection over 45 years

BOBBY WILSON
Bobby Wilson, brought up in Lumphinnans, signed as youngster by Arbroath ,had several seasons at Halbeath. 

went senior with Cowden,  arrived at Keirs park, 1984 , went upstairs for a third time with Raith Rovers,  Jock brought him back 1987.
ONE OF THE IMMORTALS  that brought back "THE HOLY GRAIL",  on that glorious day at Rugby Park. 
Played 13, ,seasons for HAWS  and MAKING 458 appearances,
and scored 73 goals. 
Had the honour of being captain of the Scotland Junior teams.. 90/91 , 91/92,
one of THE GREATS.

 

JOHN (Ian) DAIR (Lee Dair's father)
Cowdenbeath boy played senior with Cowdenbeath and Stirling Albion joined Glenrothes 1973  played in there best teams.
During his 10year spell  won  "THE HOLY GRAIL"   IN 1975 when Glens defeated Rutherglen  1 v 0 at
Hampden, had a season at Halbeath.
Before Joining  " HAWS" in 1984  making 89 appearance, a member of our first team to win junior cups.

Had the distinction in 1977  of being Capped for SCOTLAND Juniors .

BILL PENMAN
Bill Penman, brought up in Cowdenbeath , signed for Dundonald Bluebell , then went down south to serve his national service in Norwich 

he signed for city but never played in the first team, returned up north and had short spell with raith before signing for St Andrews in 1957
highlight of his career was scoring in saints 3 v 1 victory over Greenock juniors at Hampden Park in 1960 bringing the "THE HOLY GRAIL"
back to fife .After 4 seasons at the saints Bill finished his career playing for Lochgelly and Steelend.
sadly after an illness he passed away in 1976 age 41 his legacy lives on and he has a HAWTHORN connection
His son Gordon played 251 times for the HAWS
