Camelon 1 - Haws 2

So today saw the Haws visit Camelon hoping to rediscover that winning formula. The Haws started well and in the 8th minute a Michael Perrie corner found captain Rikki Dair who put the ball in the back of the net to give the Haws the lead.
Camelon kept trying to breakdown a solid Haws defence which was giving nothing away.
As Camelon made a break down their left wing Haws player Russell Grierson pulled up holding his hamstring and had to be replaced by Shaun Leishman who quickly settled into the game. A further injury to Dair forced another substitution to be made with Greg Smith coming in to the central midfield and Lee Bryce going to left back.
The Haws came out in the second half looking to add to their single goal lead and we're rewarded when Bryce crossed from a free kick in the 53rd minute, Lewis Elder beat the Camelon keeper to the ball and buried the ball in the back of the net to put the Haws 2 up. Numerous breaks and chances were created as the game continued and both Callum Adamson and Elder had their chances but never quite got the rub of the green again. In the 90th minute Camelon got a consolation goal but never threatend the Haws for the win. A good 3 points away from home for the Haws wo welcome league leaders Penicuik Athletic to Keirs Park next Saturday 26th August.
