Hill of Beath Hawthorn to join the East of Scotland League next season.

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

Following the EGM of the East of Scotland Football League yesterday, Hill of Beath Hawthorn F.C. are pleased to announce our application to join the East of Scotland FA from next season, 2018/19, has been accepted. In addition, our 2001’s team will play in the East of Scotland FA 20’s League creating a pathway within the club for our young players to develop and progress.

The club are delighted to formally announce our progression from junior to senior ranks which has always been an ambition and is something we have been building towards off the park in recent years by investing and enhancing in our off field infrastructure with the aim of attaining SFA licence status at entry level as early as possible.

Hill of Beath Hawthorn F.C. was formed in1975 and progressed from the amateur football league to join the Scottish Junior FA in 1982. During the junior years the club has been fortunate to enjoy on field success which included winning the Scottish Junior Cup in 1990.

The club will now formally give notice to the SJFA and ERSJA of our intent in order to respectfully allow these associations the time to plan for next season. In doing so, the Committee of the HAWS express our sincere thanks to the officials of both associations who have been supportive of the club, for all their hard work during our membership and express our best wishes to all players and officials going forward.

Whilst this is a decision that the HAWS committee have not taken lightly, we firmly believe that the opportunity to attain senior status, combined with the potential to progress as a club both on and off the park within the SFA pyramid set up, and most importantly creating a solid structure for our players at all ages and in both squads to continue to develop and enhance their experience and opportunities within the game, is absolutely the right pathway for the club.

Finally, our thanks to the East of Scotland FA committee for their support and we very much look forward to jointly creating the next chapter in our history. We all look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
