LATE DRAMA AS HAWS PICK UP ANOTHER 3 POINTS

Match Report from Harvey Duguid on The HAWS 3-2 win over Sauchie Juniors in the EoS Premier Division

The Haws travel to Sauchie in the EoS Premier Division seeking another 3 points in this exciting title race and the game did not disappoint as The HAWS go 1-0 up in the 13th minute with a clever run from Dan Baur who nods it in at the back post from the corner.

Sauchie 1-0 down but heads still high as the next 30 minutes was end to end forcing both goalkeepers into some very important saves, the tempo was high the fans were on edge and then out of nowhere the cross comes in and the Sauchie defender slides in on it, the ball bounces in the air and the goalkeeper collects who catches then spills it leaving Scott Wilson with the tap in to make it 2-0 just on half time

Half time

Sauchie 0 Haws 2

The second half is underway, and it didn’t take long for any more action as the referee points to the spot for a handball penalty Sauchie.

Sauchie step up and Blair Penman dives the right way, but it wasn’t enough to stop the penalty Sauchie 1 Haws 2.

The second half did not have as much action and was more of a midfield war as both teams did not have many shots but there was a lot of off-sides for both sides as both teams held their defensive line very well.

Sauchie were the ones to double their goal tally as a cross came in and the header soared over the goalkeeper to make it 2-2 in the 79th minute. 2-2 11 minutes to go however Jordan Tosh was not taking a point as Haws start a counter its crossed into the box deflection and it’s a goaaaal Jordan Tosh finds the net in the 90+2 minute to make the game 3-2 as Haws maintain their lead at the top of the EoS Premier Division.

Haws coach Robbie Raeside said, “A difficult away ground and a very tough place to come”
